Xasthur may be the best one man band working in the black metal area that leans more towards ambient/atmospheric black metal. His tracks here have a cold, dark ambience with a sense of deep atmosphere that's both strange and hypnotic. Few bands have dared to reach out so far, creating song structures and heavy buzzing miasmic atmospheres of emotive, dissonant darkness all of their own. This is a brilliant example of metal when it naturally crosses with other genres through sheer will of character and strange nihlistic creativity. This is a deluxe double vinyl title in a beautiful sleeve, the vinyl is finely cut, and read with black marbling.
