There is something in the water over at Kranky Towers at the moment as they've got this knack of finding these strange hippie-ish groups that meld together the past and the present really well, from Strategy, to Stars of The Lid, Cloudland Canyon and now this rather excellent album by White Rainbow. It's a highly intoxicating and beautiful album, different threads of 70's experimental music get melded together, from Eno to Ash-ra Temple, Terry Riley, mixed with modern production techniques and post idm sonics. It's a really beautiful and rewarding mix that only the Kranky label seem to be pursuing at the moment and the results are very much worth it.
