Soul Jazz dig very deep for this second compilation of stuff from the New York Underground 1977- 1984, with stuff from bands it's unlikely many people have heard before. It's all extremely diverse and Top Notch stuff regardless of it's obscurity, Infact the one exception to the obscurity are tracks from an early Sonic Youth, a track from Arthur Russell, and one featuring Jim Jarmusch,the film director.

Most of this music puts any guitar based music that's come in the last 20 years since to absolute shame taken in terms of it's energy, imagination intelligence and attitude. with it's wide range of influences, everything from Funk to non European music, modern classical, Jazz to Jamaican dub, disco,aggressive noise and punk were all appropriated,swallowed up, melded and used to short sharp shocking effect, This is an Essential release, with extensive sleeve notes.
