Three tracks here from Terry Riley which present three different faces of his minimalism work.

The first is a study for Organ, short riffs delayed, replayed and meshed together in harmonies.

Track B is for for Reed instruments played in the Dorian mode, played live and manipulated into spidery shapes using tape recorders.

The highlight of the album is a splendid version of his most famous piece 'In C' played in a proto-Krautrock manner, with guitars, strange oil drums and bass guitar building up a fast metronome of psychedelic depth as instruments play tiny repeating riffs layered upon each other in the key of C.

If you thought that My Bloody Valentine had invented this kind of deep, one note layering power, this recording from 1970 will make you think again.
