We really liked the 'World House' single that came out last year via Paul Dickow aka Strategy's own Community Library label so it's great to see the guy continuing in that vein on 'Future Rock', his second full-length release for Kranky.

Incorporating compositions that have taken years to develop, a handful of close collaborators (including his cohorts from the band Nudge) and using source material that dates as far back as 2000, 'Future Rock' is Dickow's most complex, narrative, ambitious and overtly 'pop' record to date. It effortlessly crosses different sounds and spectrums to create a sound-world that is raw, recognizable but still overtly his own. You get disco mixed with techno, Afrobeat, Basic Channel style techno-dub, postpunk, vocoders, and a warm housey spaced out ambience that sounds like it was really fun to make. Don't miss this charming and excellent release.
