Number two in the Labels Unlimited series (we were the first one with the excellent Warp book). This one is on the long and esteemed history of Rough Trade, like us, a record shop and a label too. This traces Rough Trade's brilliant Communistic Post Punk D.I.Y ethics as an alternative to the rather boring mainstream and their winding history through their time as a distributor, to their position now as a highly respected shop and label, with acts such as the Libertines and the Strokes doing incredibly well. A fantastic read with lots of brilliant images and history from this pioneering label.
