This is an extremely unexpected record, as Mika Vanio from Pan sonic and Haswell and Hecker remix the music of Popol Vuh, one of the dreamiest of the Krautrock bands and soundtrackers of some of Werner Herzog's best films.

Considering the artists involved, you might imagine a collision between Popol Vuh's music and the remixers but instead each track is tackled sympathetically.
Vanio breaks up the original ' Nachts: Schnee' from the film 'Cobra Verde' layering the ambient strings of the original, creating a deep drone which is broken up with delays and digital tears. On the B-side Haswell and Hecker respectfully extend the doomed ambience of the original's fairlight synthesiser choirs, tweaking the mix to add in some bells, then adding some analogue death rays towards the end, which nicely chime with the films theme of descent into egoistic madness and obliteration.

This edition is limited and comes on red vinyl.
