Matmos
Supreme Balloon (Matador)
Electronica Experimental
Matmos go analogue for this new album and it's ace. The album isn't made in the 'analord' sense but somewhere between the experiments of 1960's moog pioneers like Dick Hyman and Jean Jaques Perrey and their own i.d.m. glitch with Matmos and the Soft Pink Truth.

It works really well, in a far more exciting way than the recent Jean Jaques Perrey and Luke Vibert album and it's more far reaching but at the same time poppy than the Analord stuff. Amongst complex electronic patterns and 4 4 beats there are playful references to 'Popcorn' and 'Switched on Bach' which bring some humour to the music.
It's good to hear their often rather dry music produced with the rounded analogue sounds of old fashioned synths too.Good music, good fun.
The vinyl edition is pressed on heavy 180g vinyl and comes in a heavy card gatefold.
