Well well well, Warp have really got a future classic here, Grizzly Bear's second album in sparkling full band form, one of the best albums of 2006 and certainly one of the most beautiful albums Warp has ever released. Think of classic Americana, the arrangement's of classic musicals, Brian Wilson's imaginative collaborator Van Dyke Parkes, Love's acid-baked Californian psychedelia, beautiful harmonies, baroque, oceanic instrumentation and subtle electronics, all shot through with a thoughtful post-rock sensibility. To top it off, the artwork of the dilapidated house it was recorded at is stunning too. An understated masterpiece.
