Dj Shadow, pretending it's not him, compiles this excellent second compilation of 60's and 70's American High School bands, who's tracks have come out on Privately pressed releases. It's all here breaks, funk, psychedelia, ballads, the lot, played in an unpretentious way by this cross section of amateur teenagers from all over America. Charming and pretty funky in places, with lots of variation, its a pleasure. Some are very funny too, especially the rather overexcited version of 'Do ya think i'm sexy' by Rod Stewart.
