Battles unveil their first newly-recorded material for Warp in the form of 'Atlas'. This 12" only release features the title track and a remix from DJ Koze. The original seamlessly combines the lolloping stomp of glam-rock with the sonic inventiveness of techno, it's a verifiable anthem, unrelenting and gigantic, but never surrendering the skewed aesthetic of the band's past. For the remix, DJ Koze selects some choice elements from the rich source material and re-builds the track from the ground up. The outcome is a moody, electro-tech groove that heads off into lush melodic territory.
