Saroos is Florian Zimmer (ISO 68), Christoph Brandner (Lali Puna) and Max Punktezahl (The Notwist, Contriva) with Saam Schlamminger (Chronomad) and Volker Zander (Calexico). 'Saroos' is named after the imaginary, remote place where this album came into being. Their debut, of the same name, is as you can imagine, very good with strong imagination and influences, it's filled with soft slivers of alien soundmaterial and immaculate guitars drift towards percussive rock, reminicent of the maths rock of Slint, but also there are more delicate elements, lot's of subtleties and warmth. Anticon's Alias drops in on "During This Course", followed by "Everyone Was There", which has shades of "Sabres Of Paradise".
