Just in time for the summer comes Quiet Village's Silent Movie. Quiet Village are the guys who also do the excellent Rekids releases, but Quiet Village is a much more easy listening proposal.
The music here contrasts between tastefulness and more ersatz elements, hints of Chris Rea, mainstream disco or early 80's Balearic pop mix it up nicely with woozy strings, techno fxs and cinematic drama.
At times the mood of the album has a strange, sterile sense of unease, you might imagine the Quiet Village they invoke is only quiet because of some kind of Cannibal attack,
The exotic elements chime well with the strange exotica horror of early 80's video nasties and Fabio Fritzi's gaudy soundtracks for the Lucio Fulchi films. These moods subtlety blend with the outright bliss of other tracks to create a strange tension, that just lurks below the surface. Make sure you visit the Quiet Village!
